2019 Burrowing OwL Festival
Dated: February 10 2019
Sat, Feb 23, 2019
Since 2002, Cape Coral is home to the largest known population of the Florida Burrowing Owl which is a species of special concern. These pint sized birds burrow underground where they nest from early February through mid-July and are now the official city bird of Cape Coral. Join us at this family fun filled event which celebrates the start of the burrowing owl nesting season and all of Cape Coral’s natural wildlife treasures. Held with major support from the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife volunteer group, this is a fun day for the whole family, filled with entertaining and educational programs, hands-on activities for children, live animals, guided nature walks, butterfly house tours, bus tours to active owl burrows, a silent auction, plus Love Boat Ice Cream and other tasty treats for lunch.
